Construction Crew Leader / Foreman

The Role
Lead a landscape-construction crew on residential design/build and commercial properties across Central Ohio.
$25–$33 per hour, based on experience and crew assignment
Construction crew leaders turn the plan into finished field work. We look for people who can read the drawings, communicate site problems early, train the crew, and check the work before leaving the property.
What the Work Includes
- Lead a field crew on installation and hardscape construction projects
- Own the day's plan, including site sequence, quality, safety, and closeout
- Walk every new project with the production manager and salesperson before work starts
- Read landscape construction drawings and build what they say
- Build hardscape and structures called for on the plans: patios, walls, steps, and outdoor structures
- Run a daily quality walk before the crew leaves the site
- Complete daily timesheets, field reports, and required photos
- Keep equipment checked, greased, fueled, and loaded for the next day
- Communicate clearly with the office, the client on site, and the crew
- Train crew members on the work and equipment they are assigned
What It Takes
- 3+ years of field landscape construction experience, or a horticulture/landscape degree with crew time
- Working knowledge of plant, landscape, and hardscape materials
- Able to read landscape construction drawings
- Valid driver's license; able to drive medium-duty trucks with a trailer
- Comfortable running equipment: skid loader, mini-excavator, saws, tampers
- Able to communicate site issues before they become client complaints
- Comfortable working outside through all four Ohio seasons
Helps, Not Required
- Hardscape installation experience (patios, walls, steps)
- Snow operations experience
- Spanish/English bilingual
