Step 1
Size the pot
Container height, width, weight, and material are matched to the architecture, hardscape, wind exposure, and maintenance access.
Seasonal containers and planter pots for Central Ohio entries and patios.
Seasonal color in visible places
We plant and maintain containers and planter pots for homes in Columbus and Central Ohio. A pair of well-planted pots at the front door changes how a house greets people, and containers on a patio soften the stone and bring in seasonal color.
Containers sit where people look first, so we choose the pot, the soil and the plants with the rest of the property in mind. In Central Ohio the planting has to handle cool spring nights, summer heat and fall color without looking temporary.
The pot should be in scale with the door or wall beside it, and the plants should suit the sun, the shade and how often the pot will be watered. Summer annuals and fall mums can be changed out through the season as part of residential maintenance, so the containers stay fresh from spring through fall.
How We Build It
Containers are small next to patios, walls and beds, but they sit where people look first. The scale has to fit the door, gate, wall or seating area.
When containers are part of a larger project, they are listed in the written proposal with everything else.
Step 1
Container height, width, weight, and material are matched to the architecture, hardscape, wind exposure, and maintenance access.
Step 2
Annual color, evergreen structure, small shrubs, trailing plants, and seasonal accents are chosen for sun, shade, heat, and how often the pot can be watered.
Step 3
Drainage, soil mix, watering, fertilization, and seasonal changeouts decide whether the container stays sharp beyond the first week.
Planter Pots & Containers
Entry pots, patio containers and seasonal plantings from Peabody projects across Central Ohio.
Something with height, something that fills, and something that trails over the edge, chosen for how much sun the door gets. In shade that might be ferns and begonias; in sun, grasses and annual color.
Bigger than most people expect. A container should be in scale with the door or wall beside it, and larger pots hold more soil and dry out more slowly in summer heat.
Yes. Seasonal changeouts, summer annuals and fall mums can be handled on the same maintenance visits as the rest of the property.
They need to fit it. Sometimes that means matching the architecture. Sometimes it means staying quiet so the planting does the work.
Yes. Seasonal containers are usually replanted several times a year so the entry or patio looks right in every season.
The right plants for the amount of sun, a pot big enough to hold moisture, and a plan for watering. Small pots in hot sun fail quickly without those basics.
