Commercial Snow & Ice Management in Central Ohio
Contracted plowing, walkway clearing, de-icing, storm monitoring, and service records for commercial sites.
Winter Service on Commercial Sites
Winter is a liability season. For the property managers and facility teams Peabody works with, snow is an access problem, a safety problem, and a liability problem. Lots, walks, and entrances have to be open when tenants, residents, and employees arrive, whatever fell overnight.
Each Central Ohio site is planned before the first storm: plow routes, snow stacking zones, priority walks and entrances, de-icing thresholds, and who gets called when conditions change. Service events are documented with times, conditions, and the work performed, so what happened on the property during a storm is on record.
Where Peabody also maintains the property in the growing season, the crews already know the site: where the curbs, hydrants, drains, and islands sit before the snow hides them.
Storm Operations
Routes, stacking zones, priority walks, and treatment triggers reviewed in advance.
What a Snow Contract Covers
Plowing & Hauling
Lots, drive lanes, and access roads cleared on trigger depths set in the contract, with hauling when stacking zones fill.
Walks & Entrances
Priority pedestrian routes, building entrances, steps, and ADA routes cleared and treated ahead of building traffic.
De-icing & Anti-icing
Salt and treatment applied to contract thresholds, with pre-treatment ahead of forecast events where the site plan calls for it.
Storm Monitoring
Weather tracked through the event. Crews are dispatched to conditions, not to a morning schedule.
Service Documentation
Each visit recorded: times, services performed, and conditions. Records available to the account when questions come later.
Season Transitions
Fall site walk before the first event, spring cleanup of stone, salt residue, and turf damage after the last one.
Winter Service
Commercial Snow and Ice Service
Lots plowed and walks cleared before the property opens, with snow pushed clear of the drive lanes.
Frequently Asked Questions
When should a commercial snow contract be signed?
Before winter routing and equipment assignments are finalized. Early review leaves time for a site walk, scope questions, and contract approval.
How are service events documented?
Each visit is recorded with times, services performed, and site conditions. When an incident question comes up in February, the account has a record instead of a recollection.
Can snow be combined with landscape maintenance?
Yes. Snow and landscape work remain separate scopes, but site records and account contacts can be coordinated when Peabody holds both contracts.
How do communications work during a storm?
Every account has a named lead with a direct line. During events, dispatch decisions follow the site plan, and the account is informed when conditions push service beyond the standard plan.
