The Role

Install, service, and winterize irrigation systems on residential and commercial properties across Central Ohio.

$20–$26 per hour, based on experience and certification

Irrigation technicians keep systems running through every season: startup in spring, adjustments through summer, and winterization before the freeze. We look for people who can diagnose a system on site and explain what they found to the client.

What the Work Includes

  • Run spring startups: activate systems, check zones, and adjust heads and coverage
  • Diagnose and repair leaks, broken heads, valves, and wiring issues
  • Adjust controllers and zone run times for the season and site conditions
  • Run fall winterizations: blow out lines with compressed air ahead of freeze
  • Read irrigation plans and locate mainlines, laterals, valves, and backflow assemblies
  • Recognize backflow assembly issues and flag them for certified testing
  • Communicate clearly with the office and the client on site about system condition and repairs needed
  • Keep the service vehicle and equipment stocked, maintained, and ready for the next stop

What It Takes

  • Experience with irrigation systems: installation, repair, or service
  • Working knowledge of controllers, valves, heads, and backflow assemblies
  • Valid driver's license
  • Able to read irrigation plans and troubleshoot systems in the field
  • Comfortable working outside through spring startup and fall winterization seasons

Helps, Not Required

  • Backflow assembly experience
  • A year of irrigation experience, or equivalent time in the field
  • Spanish/English bilingual
