Project Narrative

How this project comes together

What the site needed

This backyard needed to work as a pool deck, patio, and evening sitting space without feeling like separate zones. The pool takes most of the footprint, so the walk routes and furniture placement had to be planned tightly.

How the build answers it

The terrace carries people around the pool to the fire area, covered porch, and gate. Stone piers, low walls, lighting, planting, and river-rock beds give the hardscape edges so the space still feels finished after dark.

Location: Blacklick, OH
Division: Residential Design & Build
Focus: Poolside Outdoor Living
Project Type: Poolside terrace, fire feature, and lighting

Scope

Poolside terrace and walks
Round fire feature and seating area
Stone piers and low walls
Pool-edge planting beds
River-rock detail areas
Low-voltage lighting for evening use

Design Notes

The pool edge stays open to walk along, while the fire area sits far enough back to hold a group without blocking the walk.
Stone piers and low walls frame the fence line and give the pool a stronger edge.
Planting pockets and river rock break up the paving and keep the edges from feeling unfinished.
Lighting in the piers and beds makes the pool, fire area, and patio read as one space at night.
