Project Narrative

How this project comes together

What the site needed

This property is not one big patio. It is a sequence of outdoor rooms: cooking under the pergola, sitting by the brick fireplace, crossing the lawn on stone pads, and moving through hydrangea beds and shade planting.

How the build answers it

The work uses masonry, columns, pavers, lawn panels, fountain details, and layered beds to keep each area defined without breaking the garden into hard stops. It feels established because the built pieces and planting have equal weight.

Location: Dublin, OH
Division: Residential Design & Build
Focus: Garden Outdoor Rooms
Project Type: Backyard outdoor rooms and garden

Scope

Brick outdoor fireplace and hearth
Pergola-covered grill station
Rectangular stone patio slabs and stepping paths
Lawn panels and garden walkways
Hydrangea and shade planting
Fountain and garden details

Design Notes

The pergola and columns make the grill station feel tied to the house instead of floating in the yard.
The fireplace anchors the far room, with patio space and benches giving it a clear use.
Stone pads and lawn panels keep the walk across the garden clean without turning every path into hardscape.
Hydrangeas, low shrubs, shade trees, and small garden objects soften the brick and masonry.
