Project Narrative

How this project comes together

What the site needed

This campus landscape had to carry daily foot traffic while giving the surrounding buildings a finished outdoor edge. The work needed to read from upper floors, entries, and the paths students use every day.

How the build answers it

Brick walks, concrete bands, lawn panels, low walls, benches, young trees, and plaza paving guide people through the courtyard. The planting and hardscape stay orderly so the buildings remain the focus.

Location: Granville, OH
Division: Commercial Construction
Focus: Campus Courtyard & Walkways
Project Type: Campus courtyard, walks, and plaza landscape

Scope

Campus pedestrian walks and courtyard paving
Brick paver fields with concrete bands
Lawn panels and building-edge planting
Seat walls, benches, and plaza edges
Tree installation and bed preparation
Entry and terrace transitions

Design Notes

The curved walk sets the main route through the courtyard while keeping the lawn panels open.
Brick and concrete banding give the paths scale without making the paving feel busy.
Bench pockets and low walls create places to stop without blocking foot traffic.
Trees and simple planting beds soften the building edge while preserving clear views across the campus space.
