Project Narrative

How this project comes together

What the site needed

This backyard needed the pool, pool house, lawn, and house-facing garden to feel like one estate setting instead of separate features placed around the property.

How the build answers it

The paver pool deck handles foot traffic and lounge space, while the natural stone wall and layered planting give the house and lawn a stronger edge. Seasonal color, shrubs, and mature tree cover keep the space polished without making it feel crowded around the pool.

Location: Dublin, OH
Division: Residential Design & Build
Focus: Pool Deck & Poolside Landscape
Project Type: Poolside landscape, paver terrace, stone wall, and planting

Scope

Poolside paver terrace and lounge space
Pool house landscape edge
Natural stone garden wall
Layered perennial and shrub planting
Seasonal color beds
House-facing lawn and garden transitions

Design Notes

The pool deck stays open enough for furniture, foot traffic, and service access while the planting softens the pool-house edge.
The stone wall establishes a clean grade transition and gives the house-facing beds a more permanent structure.
Bright seasonal color is concentrated where it can be seen from the lawn, pool deck, and house.
Trees, shrubs, perennials, and low groundcover create depth around the property without blocking the main views to the pool and architecture.
